The NCAA finally deregulated the use of texting and social media for coaches to contact basketball recruits.  I believe this was inevitably with the new age of social media we are in right now.  It is easier to get in touch with an athlete through texting and tweeting than it is over the phone.  I am sure it was very hard to regulate and keep track of for the NCAA.  It just makes more sense.
